A small team in Toronto, building one thing well
HawkTel Innovative Solution was founded in 2022. We build HawkTel: a consultation room for licensed immigration practice, where a call can end in a written record the practitioner approves before their client sees it.
Arriving somewhere and being unable to explain yourself is a specific kind of humiliation. The client is a qualified engineer, a nurse, a lawyer — and they are being spoken to slowly, unable to say the one precise thing that would settle the matter. That is where this company started.
Where this started
Canada admits hundreds of thousands of new permanent residents each year. Most arrive competent, qualified and entirely capable — and then spend their first year navigating credential recognition, credit history, tenancy law and tax filing in a language they are still learning.
Translation good enough to hold a professional conversation only became practical very recently, and our first bet was built on it: a marketplace where a newcomer could book a licence-verified expert and be understood live, inside the call. Language, we said, was the bottleneck — not supply.
What we measured
In August 2026 we measured two things. The translation was one-directional: the model we run translates into English and nowhere else, so the expert understood the client live and never the reverse. And the marketplace numbers, drawn live from our own database, were zero verified experts, zero bookings and zero completed sessions. A perfectly bidirectional translator would have translated zero calls.
Language was not the bottleneck. Having no customer was. The first bet did not need a better model; it needed a different buyer.
What we sell now
HawkTel is a practice tool for licensed immigration consultants and lawyers, and the newcomer is their client rather than ours. What a practitioner gets: a written record of the call — kept only if both people consent, in the room — which they read, cut and approve before their client sees it; a licence check with a name and a date on it, shown to their client; and, when a client does not speak English, the client’s side of that record transcribed and translated into English — after the call, one way, and labelled as machine translation. Nothing about the call goes to a US cloud or a third-party AI service.
What has been proved
Nothing, yet — and this page should be the one place that says so without flinching. No practitioner has run a real consultation on this software. That is the unit of proof we hold ourselves to: not a feature shipped, and not the pivot itself, but one licensed practitioner running one real call with one real client. Until then, the honest description of this company is that it measured its first bet, found it wrong, and moved.
How we work
Deliberately small and deliberately narrow. The numbers on our progress page come from the database, including the zeroes — which is how the first bet was caught at all. When a page on this site says more than the code does, the page loses.
We verify every consultant’s licence before they can take a booking, and show the check — who performed it and when — where their client can read it. And we would rather not offer a language than offer it badly: the record’s transcription covers five languages today because those are the five that cleared the quality bar, not because the list looked long enough.
What is true today
This page makes no claim it cannot evidence. Here is the actual state of the product.
- LiveLicence verification, enforced in code: a profile in a regulated category cannot appear, take a booking, or be rung until a person has checked the registration number against the public register. The check records who performed it and when, and both are shown.
- LiveThe written record: kept only if both people consent, separately, in the room, and produced after the call ends — not during it. Where the client spoke Arabic, Farsi, Spanish, Tagalog or Mandarin, their side is transcribed and translated into English in the record; nothing renders the consultant back in the client’s language. The consultant reads it first, removes any line, and approves it; then the client receives it. Either side can withdraw, which deletes it. Deleted after 90 days regardless. No audio or video is ever recorded.
- LiveThe consultation room: two people, mic, camera, screen share, nothing to install. A booked session opens on a device check; a call accepted live goes straight in. The room itself translates nothing while people talk — a client’s other-language speech reaches English only in the written record, after the call.
- LiveSelf-hosted, entirely. Transcription and translation run on hardware the company owns; no audio and no client data leaves infrastructure we control, and nothing is sent to a US cloud or a third-party AI API. The servers are in Europe today, not Canada — the privacy notice says where.
- Built, offPayment and email, both. No money moves through HawkTel today, and nothing is delivered by email — the form below reaches a person, and the reply is written by hand.
- NextThe first real consultations. There are zero consultants and zero completed sessions today. The founding cohort fills this row.
